“Fraud in Litigation: A Primer for Claims Professionals” will provide claims professionals with an overview of the litigation landscape following the recent filings of numerous RICO complaints. Topics include background on the complaints; the years of investigation into the fraudulent activities of plaintiffs’ law firms and their medical providers; fraud statistics affecting the industry, with discussions about the ever-changing fraud landscape; and protocols and discovery techniques that should be considered by claims professionals upon receipt of suspect claims.

CLE Credit is pending in California, Connecticut, Illinois, New Jersey, and New York. 
NY CLE: This live webinar format is acceptable for all attorneys for all credit types. For newly admitted attorneys, this includes Skills credit (through December 31, 2024 per recent guidance of the CLE Board).
CE Credit is pending in Florida and Texas.



Ellen Greiper has more than 30 years of experience defending multiparty construction and construction defect cases in the state and federal courts of New York. Also a member the firm’s nationwide 24/7 response program, Ellen has extensive experience representing large fleet trucking companies in a wide range of transportation matters. Additionally, she regularly manages crises pertaining to OSHA Safety & Health matters. An appointed arbitrator for the district courts in Nassau County, New York, Ellen – who has extensive experience litigating high-exposure premises liability, Labor Law and personal injury matters that arise from construction site accidents and trucking accidents also is a mediator for trial-ready cases in the Supreme Court of Nassau County. Her streamlined discovery techniques and proactive approach to complex litigation translates into effective and expedited solutions for clients. Ellen also handles defense of veterinary malpractice claims.

Eugene Boule is a member of Wilson Elser’s Executive Committee, a co-chair of the firm’s National Trial Team and a longtime contributor to the success of the firm’s Complex Tort & General Casualty Practice. Gene focuses his trial practice on the defense of negligence based lawsuits in New York state and federal courts. Gene has extensive experience with complex, high-exposure construction accident, aviation, premises liability and security, and product liability matters involving personal injury and property damage claims. He is particularly skilled in direct and cross-examination of important damages trial witnesses such as doctors, vocational rehabilitation experts and economists. A significant portion of Gene’s practice involves representing owners and contractors in construction site litigation. His more than 25 years of experience handling matters governed by New York’s Labor Law has enabled Gene to develop in-depth knowledge of the intricacies of the statutes, a strong background in contract interpretation and insurance obligations for the critical assessment and pursuit of risk transfer opportunities, and the ability to strategically plan litigation for the best outcomes for his clients. Gene has tried many construction site cases and has formed relationships in the New York Labor Law arena with attorneys, mediators and experts that enable him to achieve quality results.
